Steinbeck, otoh, would argue for Sweet Thursday*, the day between Lousy Wednesday and Waiting Friday. Loved how you wove together the cell splitting of amoebas and tax forms; working in the banana split my sides.
(It’s still beyond my ken how Jennings blocked on that last question: that was one that “even I” knew. Perhaps he was becoming bored with the repetitive wins?)
